Yes. The Nevada DMV VP-159 Farmer/Rancher Affidavit requires notarization before the Nevada DMV will accept it to register farm vehicles at reduced fees. This form allows qualifying farmers and ranchers to pay registration fees based on the unladen weight of their farm vehicle rather than the declared gross weight when the vehicle weighs 10,000 pounds or more.
Lake Mead Mobile Notary provides same-day mobile notarization for VP-159 and agricultural business documents throughout Las Vegas, Pahrump, Henderson, and all rural areas of Clark County. Farmers and ranchers must present valid ID, weight certificate from a certified scale, and proof of farming/ranching operations. Same-day appointments available at your farm, ranch, equipment facility, or residence.
Typical VP-159 notarization takes 15-20 minutes with proper documentation verification and notarial certificate completion. We serve agricultural operations throughout Southern Nevada.

The Nevada DMV VP-159 Farmer/Rancher Affidavit is an official form under NRS 482.036, 706.071, and 706.141 that allows qualifying farmers and ranchers to register large farm vehicles at reduced fees. Instead of paying registration based on declared gross weight, the VP-159 enables registration fees based on the unladen (empty) weight of the vehicle when it weighs 10,000 pounds or more.
Under NRS 482.036, a "farm vehicle" means any vehicle controlled and operated by a farmer or rancher that transports livestock, agricultural products, ranch or farm machinery or supplies to or from a ranch or farm, and is not used as a common or contract carrier. The farmer or rancher must derive at least two-thirds of their gross income from cultivating soil, raising agricultural commodities, or farming/ranching operations as defined in NAC 482.430.
This form must be notarized by a Nevada notary public or authorized DMV representative. The affidavit requires a weight certificate from a State Sealer of Weights and Measures certified scale per NRS 706.141, and applicants must submit additional proof of farming/ranching operations as determined by Nevada DMV.

Confirm your vehicle meets Nevada farm vehicle definition: controlled by farmer/rancher, used to transport livestock/agricultural products/farm equipment, not used as common carrier, and weighs 10,000+ pounds unladen. Verify you derive at least two-thirds of gross income from farming/ranching.
Have your vehicle weighed empty (unladen) by a State Sealer of Weights and Measures certified scale per NRS 706.141. DMV offices with scales are certified. Obtain weight certificate or official receipt showing unladen weight.
Collect documentation proving at least two-thirds of gross income from farming/ranching: previous year's tax returns showing farm income, Schedule F (Profit or Loss from Farming), agricultural permits, or other DMV-approved proof of operations.
Fill in vehicle identification number, year, make, model, unladen weight from certificate, motor carrier account number (if applicable), Nevada driver's license or ID number, and physical/mailing addresses. Leave the signature and notary sections blank. No alterations permitted after signing.
