Plaza Hotel & Casino is a historic hotel and casino located at 1 Main Street in downtown Las Vegas. Built at the site of the original Union Pacific Railroad depot where pioneers disembarked in 1905, the property opened on July 2, 1971, as Union Plaza. At the time, it was the world's largest hotel and casino. Jackie Gaughan acquired the property in 1971 and controlled it for decades. Following multiple renovations in 2004, 2011, 2019, and 2023, the Plaza has transformed into a modern downtown destination while retaining its vintage Las Vegas charm.
